a number of precipiant factors made me visit my tailor last night for a couple of shirts including my washing machine is on the fritz and has stained

- origionaly thaught three but ended up commisioning a 5 all 5 in Italian super 120

2 blue bengal stripes - one lighter than the other.

1 french blue.

1 Black.

1 i cant remember which but super 120.

Barrel convertable cuff, wide spread collar, Placket, 3" tail as a scoop, no pleats.

Musings on the ‘tan suit’

Right I mentioned previously that I’ve got some 7oz cashmere airborne JJ Minnis fabric in rather lovely oatmeal in fact this stuff –

So im wondering what to do with it,

2 odd jackets or a 2 piece suit?

Full, quarter or skeleton lined?

a couple of photos of 'the first one'

Auditing my wardrobe:

Thinking about this stuff I already have a fair few items

- Suits
1 black 3 piece tailored suit in super 120 open weave fabric with spare pair of trousers.

- Dinner Jackets
o x Black satin faced – screen print of Hamish from AC/DC – will show pix later
o 1x white/ivory self faced in a un-identifiable fresco – Tailored for my grandfather.
- Sports Coats/ Odd Jackets
o 1x Black Two Button Single breasted blazer – M&S Travel Wear – blue lined
o 1x Black three button Single breasted linen blazer – Unidentifiable Spanish made – quite ratty.
o 1x windowpane, single breasted wool occasional jacket in brown/tan/green.
o 1x tan rohan travel jacket strange wrinkle free synthetic nylon/ballistic fabric that’s quite pleasing, patch pockets, which I fly in/ go shooting in.

Shirts in good quality that fit * this is an issue from time to time.

- 2x white short sleeved linen – tailored/MTM by Kashmir Tailors (KT) Doha
- 2x royal/French blue short sleeved linen – tailored/MTM by KT Doha

- 1 x pair of black combat boots, brown laces

Starting the Blog

Embarking on a sartorial adventure.

Ok, starting this blog

I aim to catalogue my embarkation on a ‘grown up' wardrobe – aided in part by the tailoring prices here in Doha, it has the down side of being awfully hot here in the summer.

Im about to get a number of suits made

I’ve found my tailor, had one three-piece made already I like the quality,

A black and red pinstripe.

Im headed off to Hong Kong

yardage of JJ Minnis fresco & Rangoon fabric in hand. A lovely oatmeal.

Im going to take the following as an example of the wardrobe I need

-4 checks

8 suits (Half as many as shirts)
